Mulled Wine Recipe – Blogmas Day 7

Ingredients: 

  • 1 x 750 ml bottle of dark, dry red wine (merlot or malbec)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
  • 3 clementines (skin on) sliced, plus extra to decorate

To decorate: 

  • thinly sliced apple
  • cinnamon sticks

Recipe: 

  1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan and heat over low-medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.  Leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes, but don’t allow it to simmer or boil. 
  2. Ladle into mugs and serve with apple and clementine slices and cinnamon sticks.
